The Carinthian Daniel Fellner (SPÖ) has assessed his party's latest poll numbers as "wirklich besorgniserregend" while also reaffirming his fundamental readiness to engage in talks with all parties within the democratic spectrum.
Background: Declining numbers for the SPÖ
In a statement, Fellner responded to the most recently published surveys, which show a significant decline in voter support for the Social Democrats. Fellner spoke of figures that gave cause for concern and would need to be seriously discussed within the party.
Fellner, who leads the SPÖ in Carinthia, also commented on the question of possible coalitions after an election. He said he was sticking to his principle of holding talks with all parties, provided they operated within the democratic spectrum.
