The US military said it bombed targets in Iran for the fifth consecutive day on Thursday, while US President Donald Trump threatened Tehran's leadership with attacks on civilian infrastructure.

According to the US military command responsible for the region (Centcom) on platform X, the strikes began at 2:00 PM US Eastern Time (9:30 PM local time in Iran) on Thursday. The strikes were launched at 2:00 PM US Eastern Time (9:30 PM local time in Iran). This means the US military is, according to its own account, already conducting airstrikes against Iranian targets for the fifth consecutive day.

The day before the report's publication, the US military had attacked Iran in two waves. The Pentagon stated as the declared objective of the strikes that it wanted to further weaken Iran's military capabilities. Trump also announced heavy attacks in the nights to come.

Trump's Threat to Iranian Leadership

Speaking to broadcaster Fox News on Tuesday, Trump threatened that next week all power plants and bridges would be destroyed "unless they (the Iranians) come to the negotiating table and negotiate." When asked by a journalist whether he was giving Iran an ultimatum before US forces begin bombing bridges, Trump replied on Wednesday only: "I don't like to set deadlines."
