A forest fire at the Raucheck in the Tennengebirge in the municipality of Pfarrwerfen broke out on Tuesday afternoon at approximately 1,700 meters above sea level and was brought under control in the evening following a major operation involving two police helicopters, 50 firefighters, and support from the Federal Forests.
Situation and Spread of the Fire
In Pfarrwerfen in the Tennengebirge, a forest fire broke out on Tuesday afternoon at the Raucheck at approximately 1,700 meters above sea level. Initially, an area of dwarf pine measuring around 170 square meters was burning, as reported by the Salzburg State Fire Brigade Association, Pongau district. However, the fire spread rapidly upward in the inaccessible terrain.
