Former FDP chairman Christian Dürr is moving to the Munich start-up GLE360 as managing director on August 1. The company aims to establish synthetic fuels in Europe.

Dürr announced the move in an interview with the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. The company, GLE360 GmbH, is headquartered in Munich, was founded last year, and sees itself as a platform that brings international e-fuels providers together with European customers. The goal is to further develop the emerging market for synthetic fuels.

Dürr served as FDP chairman until May and is thus one of the best-known figures of the former Ampel coalition. During that time, as FDP parliamentary group leader, he had advocated a technology-open climate policy. Dürr is a trained economist (Diplom-Ökonom) and comes from Lower Saxony.
