Two siblings from Cottbus, who were unlawfully taken from their family environment in August 2021 at the ages of seven and eight by their mother, have been found safe and sound after about five years.
Breakthrough after public appeal
As the South Police Directorate and the Cottbus Public Prosecutor's Office explained in a joint press release on Wednesday, the mother voluntarily reported to a police station in Seelow in the Märkisch-Oderland district. The identity of the two missing persons has been unequivocally confirmed, it was stated. "The missing persons have been found safe and sound," the police announced. According to the information, there is currently no arrest warrant against the woman.
