Frankfurt, 27 May 2026
The newly opened driverless Skyline train connecting Frankfurt Airport's Terminal 3 with the rest of the hub will be out of service for several weeks for technical adjustments, airport operator Fraport announced on Wednesday.
The suspension follows an incident where the train unexpectedly stopped mid-route. "Aus unerfindlichen Gründen hatte die Bahn mitten auf der Strecke plötzlich gestoppt," a Fraport spokesperson said, using the German phrase for "for inexplicable reasons."
The spokesperson described the outage as lasting "voraussichtlich mehreren Wochen," or "foreseeably several weeks," but did not provide a specific date for the resumption of service.
