With this strategy, Fraport has been able to cushion fluctuations at individual locations in the past.

Background: Strikes and geopolitical tensions

According to the company, the background to the current developments at Frankfurt Airport includes labor disputes that have repeatedly disrupted operations. In addition, the tense security situation in the Middle East is affecting demand for air travel via the Frankfurt hub. Airlines and passengers are partly switching to other routes.

Fraport's international holdings, which include locations in Europe, Latin America, and Asia, on the other hand, were able to grow. The Group operates airports in Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria, and Brazil, among others.
