The MDax-listed company Fraport has lowered its passenger forecast for Frankfurt Airport for the year 2026 and now expects around 63.2 million passengers, after a decline of 1.7 percent was recorded in June.
Background: Decline in the First Half of the Year
According to its own statements, operator Fraport does not expect figures to rise noticeably again in the second half of the year. Fraport had previously expected 65 to 66 million passengers for 2026. Passenger volume is now expected to be roughly at the previous year's level.
At Frankfurt Airport, fewer passengers were counted in the first half of the year than in the first half of 2025. A total of 28.9 million people traveled via the Frankfurt hub, a decrease of 0.8 percent. In June alone, volume fell by 1.7 percent compared to the same month last year to around 5.7 million passengers.
