Paris, 30 June 2026

A woman is accusing France's Justice Minister Gérald Darmanin of having deliberately subjected her then ten-year-old daughter to renewed endangerment.

The woman told French media that the minister had been aware of warnings and had nevertheless acted without adequately protecting the child's safety. The accusations relate to the handling of a man against whom she had filed a complaint in August 2025 for the rape of her then ten-year-old daughter. The girl is referred to as Rosa in reports.

According to her lawyer, there had been clear indications of a threat situation in advance. „Es gab Warnungen“, the lawyer said according to French media reports. Those warnings had not been taken seriously enough, exposing the family to a continued danger.
