KURIER reported, citing APA, that the fire had continued to spread during the morning and that firefighting efforts were ongoing. The exact cause of the fire was initially unclear.

The emergency personnel had been assembled from the surrounding municipalities. In the case of a full blaze at a farm with stables, rescuing the animals is often one of the first and most important tasks for arriving fire brigades, because burning stables can quickly become a deadly trap for the animals.

In this specific case, the emergency personnel reportedly succeeded in bringing the livestock – that is, cattle or horses – out of the danger zone. According to the police's assessment, this averted greater damage to the farm's animal stocks.

The 30-year-old, who had possibly inhaled smoke while attempting to rescue the animals, was taken to the clinic in Innsbruck as a precaution. Depending on the intensity of smoke inhalation, smoke poisoning can lead to breathing difficulties, loss of consciousness and, in the worst case, life-threatening complications.
