According to a draft ordinance, E-Control plans to raise gas network charges by 20.7 percent in Carinthia and by 19.3 percent in Lower Austria.
For consumers in Carinthia and Lower Austria, the increase in gas network costs could be significantly steeper than in other federal states. The planned changes in each case come in just under 21 percent.
As a result, the two federal states would stand out with a notable gap from the Austrian average when it comes to network charges. That average is considerably lower and, under the draft, would rise by only 7.2 percent.
Significant regional differences
E-Control has set out the regionally differing figures in a draft ordinance. The percentage figures quoted refer to the network charges and not to the overall price of gas.
