German exports in April 2026 rose by 0.9 percent compared to the previous month, reaching 136.6 billion euros, according to preliminary figures from the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) in Wiesbaden, while imports increased by 1.2 percent to 122.1 billion euros.

As the Federal Statistical Office in Wiesbaden announced on the basis of preliminary results, the value of exports in April amounted to 136.6 billion euros. Imports increased by 1.2 percent compared to March; goods worth 122.1 billion euros were imported into Germany. The figures are adjusted for calendar and seasonal effects. This resulted in an export surplus of 14.5 billion euros, compared with 14.7 billion euros in March.

Compared with the same month a year earlier, the increase in exports was as much as 3.6 percent. In April, the USA also remained Germany's most important foreign trade market – exports to the United States were worth 11.4 billion euros. The country continues to be the largest buyer of German products.
