For households, the situation primarily means higher costs and the need to actively compare offers. The industry association INES had emphasized in its communication that a coordinated European response is necessary in order to ensure supply security in the long term. This also includes closer coordination with European neighboring countries, which, like Germany, are dependent on gas imports.

For the Bundesnetzagentur, the question also takes center stage of whether existing storage capacities and import routes are sufficient to ensure supply during peak load times. The authority recently published data on feed-in, withdrawal, and import volumes, which form the basis for assessing the situation.
