A 30-year-old German car driver was seriously injured on Wednesday on the Drautal Straße (B100) in Oberdrauburg, Carinthia, after he had provided first aid following a motorcycle accident and was himself struck by a gust of wind.

According to the Carinthia police, the incident occurred around 4:40 p.m. on the B100 Drautal Straße east of Oberdrauburg. A 60-year-old German motorcyclist was blown off the road by a violent gust of wind, according to the Oberdrauburg police inspectorate, overturned and came to rest about 20 meters away in a field.

A 30-year-old car driver – also from Germany – saw the injured motorcyclist lying in the field, stopped immediately and provided first aid. He parked his vehicle and took care of the fallen rider.
