The environmental organization Global 2000 has launched a testing campaign that allows owners of private household wells to have their water tested for PFAS.

Since the beginning of the year, water suppliers have been required to monitor their drinking water for PFAS. But anyone who draws their water from a private household well falls through this monitoring net. It is precisely this gap in knowledge that we want to close, explained Helmut Burtscher-Schaden, environmental chemist at Global 2000.

According to the organization, the aim of the campaign is to cover those private wells that are not subject to the mandatory tests carried out by water suppliers. The campaign is designed to collect data on contamination levels in private water supplies and to alert those affected to possible contamination.
