Kronstorf, 10 July 2026
The US technology group Google is planning a significantly expanded European site in Kronstorf, Upper Austria, and has submitted an application for the use of a 50-hectare site to the municipality and the district administration.
As emerges from documents submitted to the municipality and the district administration, the entire 50-hectare site in Kronstorf is to be used by Google. According to reports, the group plans to invest several billion euros at the site from 2027 onwards. The expansion would thus go beyond the previously envisaged dimensions.
Specifically, according to the leaked plans, the Google Kronstorf site will be around 150 percent larger than originally planned. For local residents in the district between Enns and Kronstorf, this represents the largest single investment by the group in Central Europe in the coming years.
