The SVP has emerged victorious from the elections in Graubünden: With Valérie Favre Accola, the People's Party is returning to the cantonal government after 18 years, while the Mitte loses its absolute majority in the executive.
The Graubünden cantonal government will once again be co-led by the SVP from January 2027 for the first time since 2008. On Sunday, Valérie Favre Accola prevailed with 32,141 votes over the Mitte and took fifth place among the five elected candidates. This means the People's Party is returning to the Governing Council for the first time since the break over Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf. Favre Accola is the current President of the Standeskommission and Statthalter of Davos; she succeeds Education Director Jon Domenic Parolini (Mitte).
