Storm gusts with speeds of up to 100 km/h triggered around 150 firefighter operations in Upper Austria and kept fire departments, police, and power grid operators on their toes on Saturday.

After the record-suspect temperatures of the previous days, a powerful storm front swept across Upper Austria on Saturday. According to the State Fire Command, gusts locally reached speeds of up to 100 km/h, leading to a large number of operations distributed across the entire federal state.

Particularly affected, according to the State Fire Command, were the district of Vöcklabruck, the district of Rohrbach, the district of Freistadt, as well as regions in the Mühlviertel and Innviertel. Toppled trees, torn-off branches, and damaged roofs kept emergency crews busy throughout the day.
