The hacker group "Bashe" claims to have stolen extensive data sets from Vienna Airport, while the airport only confirms the appearance of old cargo documents and is calling in external IT experts.
What the hackers claim
According to the hacker group "Bashe," more than half a million emails and over 4,470 files are said to have been stolen from Vienna Airport, which are now being offered for sale on the darknet. The daily newspaper "Der Standard" reported on this and at the same time pointed to "considerable doubts" about the attackers' account. This puts one of Austria's most important transport hubs at the center of an alleged cyberattack.
Airport spokesperson Peter Kleemann confirmed to the APA that airport data had indeed appeared on the internet. However, he made clear that these were "alte und bedeutungslose Aufstellungen zur Verladung von Frachtgütern in Flugzeugen". According to the documents, they are cargo manifests from 2025, which in the company's assessment contain no sensitive or current information.
