The Heidebad in Halle refuses entry to bathers if they do not have sufficient German language skills.
Mathias Nobel, managing director of the Heidebad in Halle in Saxony-Anhalt, confirmed the controversial practice to the Deutsche Presse-Agentur (dpa). According to him, it is checked at the entrance whether there are comprehension problems.
As background, Nobel cited a recent rescue operation at the pool, in which a small child had to be rescued from deep water. Above all, children and the accompanying supervisors must therefore understand the pool rules.
