: Hanfmann reaches the semifinals in Kitzbühel and faces Halys

Yannick Hanfmann has reached the semifinals at the ATP 250 clay-court tournament in Kitzbühel with a 6:3, 6:1 win over Argentina's Sebastian Baez and will face France's Quentin Halys there on Friday.

Hanfmann dominates against Baez

Hanfmann needed only 78 minutes in the quarterfinal on Thursday to clearly outclass the 2023 champion. With the decisive two-set victory, the Karlsruhe native kept alive his chance of winning his first ATP title. In his on-court winner's interview, Hanfmann was visibly moved, saying: "Mir fehlen die Worte" and "Was für eine großartige Leistung. Ich liebe es."

For the 34-year-old, this is his fourth semifinal appearance at the Kitzbühel tournament. In 2020, he even reached the final there, while in 2022 and 2024 he fell in the penultimate round each time. With his latest run to the semifinals, he underscores his special connection to the tournament in Tyrol.
