England's football captain Harry Kane spoke in Miami ahead of the World Cup quarterfinal against Norway about a round of golf with US President Donald Trump that took place around 18 months ago in Palm Beach, describing the experience as "surreal."
Kane recounted the encounter with the US president on the sidelines of the ongoing World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico. "It was a pretty surreal experience just to meet him," the Bayern Munich striker told reporters in Miami. He said he had met Trump at the politician's invitation about 18 months ago in Palm Beach, Florida.
The English striker also found words of praise for the president's sporting ability. "He plays, honestly, pretty well," Kane said. "I hope I can play as well as he does at his age," said the "Three Lions" striker ahead of the quarterfinal against Norway (11:00 PM CEST/Servus TV) in Miami. Kane also described the time spent together on the golf course as a "unique experience."
