The Austrian Trade Union Federation (ÖGB) has determined in an ongoing online survey of around 2,400 employees that nearly two thirds of workers often or almost daily suffer from high temperatures at the workplace.

Vienna – Nearly two thirds often or almost daily suffer from the high temperatures at work, the ÖGB concludes from an ongoing online survey in which around 2,400 employees have so far participated. The results paint a picture of widespread strain in the summer routines of many working people.

The concrete working conditions are in some cases extreme: Around three in ten employees work at temperatures of 33 degrees and above, eleven percent even at more than 36 degrees. Only 7 percent of survey participants stated that they work in a pleasant or, for them, tolerable temperature situation.
