According to Deutschlandfunk on June 25, 2026, temperatures will widely rise to between 31 and 38 degrees. In western and southwestern regions, values could locally climb to as high as 41 degrees.

Especially in southern Germany, the atmospheric layering is unstable: there is an increased potential for severe weather due to heat thunderstorms. Hot, humid air masses that have accumulated in the lowlands over several days can discharge suddenly in the afternoon and evening.
