Heavy rain in Vienna on Friday, July 17, led to water entering the Albertina, with no artworks damaged according to museum officials.

The heavy rain on Friday, July 17, led to water entering the Albertina. Water penetrated the entrance area, as a spokesperson for the museum explained to the Austria Presse Agentur (APA). The incident affected the entrance area of the Propter Homines Hall, where artworks were located at the time of the water entry.

„Im betroffenen Eingangsbereich sind laut den Angaben eines Sprechers vor allem Werke von Albertina-Mitbegründerin Marie Christine abgehängt worden", hieß es aus dem Haus. Accordingly, around ten paintings were removed from the Propter Homines Hall as a precautionary measure. They are expected to return to their original location on Saturday.
