Doha, July 02, 2026
Indirect talks between the USA and Iran have made positive progress, according to the mediating states Qatar and Pakistan, as announced by the spokesperson of the Qatari Foreign Ministry, Majid al-Ansari, following separate meetings in Doha.
This followed a framework agreement to end the Iran war, which had been concluded about two weeks earlier. In the Qatari capital Doha, negotiators from both sides of the conflict did not sit at the same table, according to reports. Instead, they held separate talks, with Qatar and Pakistan channeling the exchange between Washington and Tehran as mediators.
