Following England's 3:2 victory over Mexico in the World Cup round of 16, midfielder Jordan Henderson seriously injured his wrist during the celebrations and had to be treated in hospital.
Jordan Henderson seriously injured his wrist on Sunday evening during the celebrations over reaching the quarter-finals of a World Cup. After the 3:2 (3:2) victory at the Azteca Stadium against Mexico, players and staff suddenly formed a circle – shortly afterwards, Henderson was carried on a stretcher into the stadium's catacombs.
As the BBC reports, Henderson had apparently fallen over a barrier just before the celebration huddle. He was subsequently taken to a hospital. The injury is serious, it was said from the England camp.
