The Interior Ministry presented a new duty time system for the police in Vienna on Monday, which is to be tested in pilot districts such as Wien-Brigittenau, Bregenz, Leibnitz, Linz, and Gänserndorf.

Interior Minister Gerhard Karner presented the project at a press conference in Vienna. The new model envisages changed duty times and is intended to reorganize the daily work of police officers throughout the entire federal territory. According to Karner, the reform is a necessary step to secure operational readiness in the long term.
