The Graz public prosecutor's office is investigating after the death of an unborn baby in the obstetrics department of the Graz LKH, while the hospital operating company KAGe rejects allegations of incorrect treatment.

The Graz public prosecutor's office has opened an investigation after an unborn baby died in the womb at the Graz LKH. As the public prosecutor's office told APA on request, the investigation is directed against initially unknown perpetrators; the suspicion of negligent homicide under particularly dangerous circumstances is being examined. No specific suspects have been named so far.

Statement by KAGe

KAGe, the hospital operating company that runs the Graz LKH, confirmed the incident and issued a detailed written statement. The company deeply regretted the tragic outcome of the pregnancy, the statement said. At the same time, the company rejected allegations that changes had been made to the referral slip.
