Following the fire at a substation in Reutlingen on the night of Monday, the State Office of Criminal Investigation (LKA) Stuttgart is examining a possible connection to the left-wing extremist blog "Switch off," on which the incident is listed under the category "Actions/Sabotage."
During the incident, a fire broke out at a substation in Reutlingen on the night of Monday. Thousands of people were left without power for an extended period as a result. The LKA Stuttgart took over the investigation, as the case falls within the jurisdiction of Baden-Württemberg. The "Reutlinger General-Anzeiger" was the first to report on the fire.
According to an LKA spokesperson, the investigators want to determine the extent to which the blog is connected to the fire. The spokesperson's exact statement was: "Die Ermittler wollten herausfinden, inwieweit der Blog mit dem Feuer in einem Umspannwerk in der Nacht zum Montag in Verbindung stehe, teilte ein LKA-Sprecher mit." The blog entry is, however, only one of several leads being pursued. The LKA is investigating "in all directions."
