Isar Aerospace is preparing on Monday evening from the Norwegian spaceport Andøya the fourth attempt for the second test flight of its Spectrum rocket.
The launch window from the Norwegian spaceport Andøya on the island of the same name opens on Monday evening. According to the company, this is the fourth launch attempt overall, after several previous attempts were postponed or aborted.
The rocket, called "Spectrum," is intended to transport satellites into low Earth orbits once it reaches series maturity. In the current attempt, according to the company, five mini-satellites as well as a scientific experiment are on board.
Background: First test flight ended after 30 seconds
The first test flight in the spring of last year ended after 30 seconds with a crash into the sea. The Spectrum rocket had launched in the spring of last year for its first test flight and crashed into the sea after 30 seconds. The start-up has since been working on addressing the insights gained from it.
