Washington, June 04, 2026
Israel and Lebanon have agreed in Washington to implement a ceasefire, which is conditional on the pro-Iranian Hezbollah militia completely ceasing its attacks on Israel.
The agreement was reached on Wednesday in the US capital by government representatives of Israel and Lebanon and emerged from the fourth round of negotiations between the two delegations. The US State Department announced that Israel and Lebanon had agreed on a path to implement the ceasefire, as reported by Deutsche Presse-Agentur from Washington. A joint statement was released overnight. "These steps will enable progress towards a comprehensive peace and security agreement," the statement said.
