The Ivory Coast has beaten World Cup champions France 2-1 (0-1) in a test match before the World Cup in Nantes, causing a surprise.
In the first half, the Équipe Tricolore under coach Didier Deschamps initially set the tone. Rayan Cherki took advantage of an opportunity in the 45th minute and gave France a 1-0 lead shortly before the halftime whistle. Alongside Kylian Mbappé were Michael Olise and Dayot Upamecano, among others, both of whom play for Bayern Munich.
After the break, the Ivory Coast emerged from the locker room significantly improved. As early as the 53rd minute, Guela Doué equalized for the visitors. The Ivorians, who will face Germany, Ecuador, and Curaçao in Group E at the World Cup, maintained their pressure and were rewarded in the 84th minute: Amad scored the celebrated winning goal for a final score of 2-1.
