Bundesliga club FC St. Pauli confirms the departure of captain Jackson Irvine, who moves to the Japanese professional league after five years at the Millerntor.

Jackson Irvine is leaving FC St. Pauli and is embarking on a new chapter of his career in Japan. As the Hamburg club announced on Wednesday, the 32-year-old Australian is moving to the Japanese professional league. This brings an end to a five-year spell at the Millerntor, during which Irvine evolved into an iconic figure and the captain of the Kiezklub.

The midfielder arrived in Hamburg from Holstein Kiel in 2021 and earned a regular starting spot under various coaches. In the past season he continued to be part of the team's leadership group, until the move abroad was now confirmed. Both sides initially did not provide any information about the length of the contract or the financial terms.
