The win over Selekhmeteva was Grabher's second victory over the Spaniard within a short space of time, having already come out on top in an earlier encounter. The Austrian underlined her good form in the second half of the season. Selekhmeteva's semifinal loss also highlights the competitiveness in the field at the Italian tournament.

Awaiting Grabher in the final is the winner of the match between Spain's Guiomar Maristany Zuleta De Reales and another player from the upper half of the draw. The available sources do not make it entirely clear who will be on the other side of the net on Sunday. What is clear is that Grabher will go into the final as the favorite if she confirms her performance from the semifinal.

Outlook for Sunday's final

The tournament in Tolentino is part of a series of stops Grabher has played at in recent weeks. The Vorarlberger was also in action at the WTA125 in Kitzbühel and at another event in Porto. With the run to the final in Italy, her form curve is clearly pointing upward, even if the big leap in the rankings is still pending.

Looking ahead to the coming weeks, it remains to be seen how reaching the final will affect Grabher's confidence and world ranking position. Points at a WTA125 tournament are limited, but in a phase of a dense weekly schedule they can make the crucial difference. The Austrian tennis scene is following the performance of its top player with excitement.

Statistics and course of the semifinal

The match statistics of the semifinal show a commanding performance from Grabher: after a tight first set, she stepped up particularly on serve and from the baseline. In the tiebreak she kept her cool in the decisive rallies and converted her first chance to take the set. The second set then became a clear-cut affair.

In the overall picture of the 2026 season, the run to the final in Tolentino is one of Grabher's best results of the calendar year. With regard to the national competition, which also includes Sinja Kraus, she consolidates her position as Austria's number one. Sunday's final offers the chance of a first tournament win in this category for some time.
