Vienna, October 26, 2026
In a video address for Austria’s National Day on October 26, 2026, Herbert Kickl accused Beate Meinl-Reisinger of advocating a European army, the end of the right of veto, and involvement in foreign wars.
In his video address, Kickl was particularly harsh toward Neos foreign minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger. He framed her call for solidarity instead of neutrality as a fundamental conflict with his vision of European security policy.
Kickl said the establishment parties had ruined the legacy of October 26. The nonpartisan rhythm of the National Day provided the political backdrop for his attack, in which he attributed to Meinl-Reisinger a position that departs from neutrality.
