The Linz Regional Court on Thursday sentenced a man to two years of unconditional imprisonment following a knife attack on a 15-year-old, but acquitted him of the co-charge of a planned knife attack on a friend of the victim.
The jurors determined it as proven that the defendant attacked the then 15-year-old with a knife in Linz on 7 August 2026 and seriously injured him in the process. The jury acquitted the man of the additionally charged attempted bodily harm offense – according to the indictment, a planned knife attack on a friend of the victim.
The injuries still have effects to this day. The victim still suffers from the consequences of the injuries today, as was explained during the trial. The precise medical background was not made public in detail.
