Riga, 4 October 2026

After the polling stations closed in Latvia, a victory for the centre-right grouping is emerging in the parliamentary election in Riga, which will determine the composition of the Saeima.

Latvian public broadcaster and the news agency Leta reported on election evening that the centre-right grouping could expect 35.6 percent of the vote. This would make it the strongest force in the new parliament in Riga and lead the formation of a government.

The vote was held on Saturday, 3 October 2026. The citizens of Latvia were called upon to fill the 100 seats of the Saeima, Latvia's unicameral parliament. The official closing of the polling stations took place late in the evening; the figures now published are projections made immediately after the close of voting.
