Vienna, July 4, 2026

From Wednesday, July 8, 2026, the rules of Austrian Lotto will change: each tip submitted automatically enters you into two draws, and the price for the additional participation in LottoPlus will rise from 50 to 80 cents.

Anyone playing Lotto in Austria will need to adjust to new rules from Wednesday, July 8, 2026. As the Lotterien explained to the format "5 Minuten," from this date two sets of six numbers will be drawn during every Lotto draw. Your own numbers will then automatically be entered in both draws – without needing to place an additional checkmark on the ticket.

What exactly is changing in terms of price?

The catch: anyone who has already been playing in every LottoPlus draw so far will pay more in the future. Instead of 50 cents, 80 cents will be due from July, according to information from the Lotterien. Upon inquiry, the Lotterien also made clear: "Nein, man kann nicht nur bei einer LottoPlus-Ziehung teilnehmen." Those who place the checkmark will therefore in future be obliged to participate in both draws.
