A year after thieves snatched French crown jewels worth an estimated 88 million euros from the Louvre, the brazen heist is being made into a feature film, publishing house Flammarion announced on Tuesday.

The robbery, which took place on October 19, 2025, saw intruders break into the Apollo Gallery of the world's most-visited museum and make off with a collection of historic treasures. While the material value was put at 88 million euros, experts say the symbolic and historical loss is far greater.

The break-in triggered an international security crisis and led to the replacement of Louvre President Laurence des Cars. Despite the arrest of the two alleged main perpetrators and two accomplices after seven months of investigation, the stolen jewels have never been recovered.
