In the Lower Austrian state parliament, the double budget for the years 2027 and 2028 will be debated on Wednesday and Thursday. It provides for revenues of 9.901 billion euros for 2027 and expenditures of 10.923 billion euros for 2028, and has already drawn criticism from the SPÖ, NEOS, and Greens ahead of time.

The double budget for 2027 provides for revenues of 9.901 billion euros and expenditures of 10.5 billion euros. For 2028, revenues of 10.378 billion euros and expenditures of 10.923 billion euros are planned. ÖVP Finance Minister Anton Kasser explained that the previously announced savings target of 380 million euros across various departments had been met.

ÖVP floor leader Kurt Hackl detailed the planned austerity measures: 30 million euros are to be saved on state real estate, 40 million euros in the road sector, 23 million euros in the cultural sector, and ten million euros in refugee aid. Hackl spoke of a "Double budget of honesty – without whitewashing" and announced a political debate "with class."
