Lufthansa board member Dieter Vranckx assured customers on Tuesday that the airline group's fuel supply for the summer is secure and announced a full refund guarantee for any flights cancelled due to kerosene shortages.

Vranckx stated there are no signs from suppliers that fuel supply will be endangered at the group's six European hubs—Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich, Vienna, Brussels, and Rome—and other airports abroad this summer.

The assurance comes as the airline industry prepares for the peak travel season. The Lufthansa Group, which includes Austrian Airlines (AUA) among its carriers, has been working to solidify its supply chains.
