A magnitude 4.4 earthquake shook the Feldkirch area of Vorarlberg on Friday at 6:33 p.m.; the epicenter was located 5.2 kilometers south-southeast of the city.

As reported by GeoSphere Austria, the Austrian Earthquake Service, the tremors were in some cases clearly felt in the immediate vicinity. The epicenter was located 5.2 kilometers south-southeast of Feldkirch. By 8:30 p.m., 49 reports from the public had been submitted to the "Volcano Discovery" platform, most of them from Rankweil (nine), Frastanz (seven), and Feldkirch (four).

One person from Feldkirch reported: „Das ganze Haus hat gewackelt und es war ein Rumpeln zu hören“. Another report from the same city read: „Wir sind leicht zur Seite gekippt und wieder zurück“. The accounts made clear that the tremors were clearly perceptible in the daily lives of those affected.
