The number of major insolvencies in Germany – that is, companies with annual revenue of at least 50 million euros – rose to 33 in the first half of the year. This is according to figures from the credit insurer Allianz Trade, which are available to the Deutsche Presse-Agentur.
Compared to the same period last year, this represents a significant increase. The study shows that the automotive industry is disproportionately affected by the insolvencies. Other industries are also recording rising numbers, although not to the same extent as the automotive industry.
