A clear majority of the Austrian population supports the use of ChatGPT in schools, while at the same time direct entry into the workforce is preferred over a university degree.
According to a current survey, 69 percent of Austrians are in favor of the view that a university degree helps with career advancement. Nevertheless, the survey reveals a notable contradiction: more people would recommend that young adults enter the workforce directly than pursue a university degree.
Specifically, 36 percent of respondents were in favor of recommending direct entry into the workforce to young adults, while only 24 percent would recommend a university degree. This means that practical vocational training is perceived by the population as clearly ahead of the academic path.
