A sample evaluation by the Deutsche Presse-Agentur (dpa) of more than 3,700 restaurants and hotels shows that numerous businesses in Germany get negative reviews removed on Google – in major cities such as Berlin, Cologne, or Frankfurt (Main), it affected almost one in three businesses.
Deletions Particularly Frequent in Major Cities
German restaurants and hotels get negative reviews deleted on Google especially frequently. This emerges from an evaluation by the Deutsche Presse-Agentur (dpa) of more than 3,700 restaurants and hotels, reported by several media outlets. In Munich and Nuremberg, it was about every fourth establishment; in major cities such as Berlin, Cologne, or Frankfurt (Main), it stood out that nearly every third business had reviews removed. In Dresden or Magdeburg, by contrast, notices of removed reviews were found in only around 15 percent of the profiles examined.
