Marc Terenzi's daughter Summer sharply rejects planned apology song

Summer's accusation: Never there, but always in the media

Even before the statement, Summer had released her song "Daddy Issues" on Instagram, in which she sings in English: "Mein Vater wollte nie Kinder." In earlier statements as well, Summer had found clear words for her father. "Er war immer ein Narzisst, hat sich lieber für seine Geliebten entschieden," she said. And further: "Für ihn werde ich nie gut genug sein, ich lerne immer noch, wie ich den Verlust verarbeite." Terenzi had subsequently publicly asked his children for forgiveness. "Ich will meine Kinder, ich liebe meine Kinder," he said. He had been in therapy and had changed.

Terenzi's confession: Addiction and therapy

Terenzi, who is now 47 years old, had previously spoken to the Bild newspaper about his past. "Es gibt derzeit eine Menge Dinge, die zwischen uns stehen. Ich war bis vor einem Jahr Alkoholiker und drogenabhängig und konnte deswegen kein guter Vater sein. Ich wollte immer Vater sein. Was ich zutiefst bereue und was mir leid tut," he told Bild. He also recounted in a 2025 interview with Sat.1 that his stay in a rehab clinic had been paid for by Summer's mother, as he himself had been unable to cover the costs due to high debts.

Summer's mother is pop singer Sarah Connor, who was married to Marc Terenzi from 2004 to 2010. Sarah Connor stands behind her daughter. It also becomes clear in the statement that Summer has not completely given up hope of reconciliation – but these hopes have been disappointed "immer und immer wieder," as she writes.

Terenzi had also announced that the planned song was meant to serve as a musical apology. "Sorry might not ever be enough" – "Eine Entschuldigung reicht möglicherweise nie aus" – was to be the title.
