Kelkheim, July 18, 2026

Four days after the fatal machete attack on a 58-year-old woman, hundreds of people gathered on Saturday evening at the market square in Kelkheim (Main-Taunus) to remember the victim.

According to the city, approximately 400 to 500 people attended the memorial service. Mayor Albrecht Kündiger and First City Councillor Dirk Hofmann spoke, as did pastors of the Protestant and Catholic churches. Representatives of the police, emergency pastoral care, and the fire department, who had been deployed after the crime, were also among those present. The city had invited people to the gathering at the market square.
