A man used a bladed weapon to kill his wife in Kelkheim, Hesse, on Tuesday evening around 9:00 p.m. on the open street.
The crime took place in the area of Frankfurter Straße near the market square in downtown Kelkheim. According to the West Hesse Police Headquarters and the Frankfurt prosecutor's office, the woman was attacked in the evening and suffered a cut injury. She died at the scene.
As a police spokesperson told the Deutsche Presse-Agentur, the perpetrator was taken into custody. Because the crime took place on a busy street, there were numerous witnesses, according to police. „Dort gibt es verschiedene Lokalitäten. Entsprechend hatten wir dann auch den Publikumsverkehr“, the spokesperson said.
