Stuttgart, 09 June 2026

Lucas Miedler from Lower Austria reached the doubles quarter-finals at the ATP 250 grass-court tournament in Stuttgart on Tuesday, while his regular partner Alexander Erler has to sit out due to an elbow injury.

Miedler played in Stuttgart alongside the American Vasil Kirkov and defeated the Brazilian duo Marcelo Demoliner / Marcelo Melo 6-7 (5/7), 6-3, 14-12. The Lower Austrian has therefore advanced to the last eight of the grass-court tournament, which carries total prize money of around 750,000 euros.

The pairing with Kirkov became necessary because Miedler's long-time Davis Cup doubles partner Alexander Erler is out indefinitely. Erler sustained an injury to the tendon in his right elbow at the French Open and is currently undergoing therapy. How long he will be sidelined depends on his progress in recovery. The 28-year-old Tyrolean, who is ranked 31 in the doubles standings, therefore remains a question mark for the entire grass-court season.
